SNOW IN SOPHIA, N C!
Yes, it's true! We have 4 inches of snow! It's so beautiful - laying on all the trees. I have a couple of pictures for you. Mr. Fred, the basset, does not know what is going on. His short legs are buried in the snow. School's out - neighborhood kids are sledding. I just love the quiet beauty of everything being blanketed in snow. I walked out on the deck with my coffee as the sun was coming up this morning and just stood and enjoyed. What a beautiful site! I'm going to put a pot of pintoes on the old wood cookstove and cornbread in the cast iron frying pan. These days are rare anymore. Enjoy!

Welcome to My Blog!
My name is Sandra. This is my first blog so please bear with me! I'm new to this form of media. Just a little about me - I love to make almost any kind of craft. I show and sell my crafts at shows - most notably, the twelve day "Southern Christmas Show" in Charlotte each November. I make clay jewelry of all types, handmade soap, handbags, etc. My newest passion is felting - I'd love to hear from you if you like felting! I've designed and am working on some felted handbags. I'll post pictures as soon as I can. I love to "rescue" old wool sweaters and make them into handbags and then felt things on them. I also love making goat's milk soap! Again, let me know if you make soap. Quilting is another passion of mine. I recently made another trip to Gastonia to Mary Jo's...if you've never been, you have to go! They have every fabric, every color, and every thing you could possibly need. Finally, I really enjoy working in clay. Most of my jewelry pieces are made from clay and fired in a kiln. (not polymer)
Today is a very rainy day in North Carolina. They say it will change to snow tomorrow! We'll see. I had planned to make soap today, but rainy, humid weather is not good for soap making. I guess I'll go work in clay instead. Or maybe I should do like Fred and find a comfy couch to stretch out on! I promise some more pictures soon!
